Maxxis Rekon Race - MTB Tyre

Maxxis Rekon Race

The Maxxis Rekon Race is a high-performance cross-country (XC) race tyre designed for riders seeking maximum speed and efficiency on hardpack and fast, dry trails. Drawing from the proven success of Maxxis’s XC range, the Rekon Race blends low rolling resistance with reliable grip for competitive racing and spirited training.

Tyre Design

• Low-profile, tightly packed centre knobs for minimal rolling resistance and rapid acceleration
• Progressively taller side knobs for confident cornering support and predictable handling at speed
• Open channel between centre and side knobs to clear dust and maintain grip in loose-over-hard conditions
• Siped tread blocks for extra traction on roots and slick surfaces

Compounds (in order of increasing grip)

• Dual Compound: Prioritises rolling speed with balanced grip, ideal for dry XC courses and short track.
• 3C MaxxSpeed: Triple compound with a focus on efficiency and long-wearing performance, offering enhanced grip for technical XC racing.

Casings

• EXO: Lightweight and flexible with additional sidewall protection—perfect for aggressive XC riding.
• EXO+: Enhanced puncture resistance and sidewall durability for rougher courses or marathon events.
